The Brays Island Gun Club tests the skills of master-class shotgunners while also providing a welcoming environment for those wanting to learn. Our Director of Shooting Sports, Justin Rhoten, has worked at the Gun Club for 14 years and it’s always been his goal to make shooting sports inclusive, safe and welcoming for owners and guests of all ages and skill levels.

SPORTING CLAYS COURSE

The mainstay of the Brays Island Gun Club is the 15-station sporting clays course, originally designed by Holland & Holland and expanded in 2011 by course designer, Marty Fischer, and Justin Rhoten. Spread across two miles, the course offers variety and versatility to create different shots with the expansive space. In a pristine setting, the course utilizes the natural environment to offer challenges and diverse targets. To continuously offer a challenging course for even expert shooters, the targets and stands are moved each month at each station.

SKEET, TRAP & MORE

Beyond the sporting clays course, the Gun Club offers FITASC, skeet, trap and five stand, in addition to an adjacent rifle range, a separate pistol range, and a dedicated archery course. As a full-service gun club, owners have the ability to purchase hunting gear, licenses, shotguns, rifles and ammunition and take private lessons to fine tune their shooting skills.

EVENTS AT THE GUN CLUB

While our Outdoor & Shooting Expo is our largest onsite event, shooting events are held at the Gun Club on a regular basis. Most popular, our Shoot & Grill takes place once a month and offers an opportunity for shooters of all levels to compete in teams where scores don’t necessarily matter and cocktails and dinner follow post-competition. From Fun Shoots, to Ladies Shoots, training courses and more, there’s always an inclusive activity happening at the club.

Whether you view shooting sports as practice for bird hunting or are looking to learn the sport, the Brays Island Gun Club is designed for all. Surprisingly enough, about a third of our owners have never shot before moving to Brays and have picked up a new hobby upon joining our community.
