Home Owners Association

After development was completed, Brays Island Plantation became an independently... governed community and is now directed by the 325 property owners through the Homeowners Association. All of the amenities and common property here are owned by the Homeowners Association. Each property owner owns his or her homesite in fee simple, as well as an interest in all of the common areas. A Board of Directors is elected from among the property owners, while a General Manager oversees the day-to-day operations and develops an annual budget with the department heads. The budget is then reviewed by a finance committee, approved by the Board and sent to the owners for ratification at the annual meeting. Committees of owners are intimately involved with the operation of the gun club, hunting, golf, and equestrian programs, property management and social activities.
