The Plantation
Brays Island Plantation is private, protected and worlds
away from hurried everyday life. Yet this 5,500 acre plantation is just an
hour from Charleston and Savannah, 45 minutes from Hilton Head and 15 minutes
from Beaufort. With only 325 homesites and 3,500 acres set aside as a nature
and hunting preserve, Brays Island is committed to protecting the surrounding
environment while maintaining the sporting lifestyle of a traditional Lowcountry
plantation.
Owners at Brays Island Plantation pursue numerous outdoor
interests in a setting of peerless beauty. Hunting game includes deer, dove,
quail, chukar, pheasants, turkey and duck. Horseback riding enthusiasts enjoy
a magnificent Equestrian Center, 60 miles of trails, and hundreds of acres
of paddocks. Shooting is available with skeet, trap, five stand and a Holland
& Holland-designed sporting clays course. And a tee time is never needed
on our 6,800 yard links style 18-hole golf course. Fresh and saltwater ponds
on the property feature large mouth bass, redfish, speckled trout, flounder
and black drum, while the surrounding tidal marshes hold redfish, trout, jacks,
cobia, tarpon and shark. Covered boat storage is available, and a ramp and
docks provide easy access to nearby beaches, the Intracoastal Waterway and
Atlantic Ocean.
